Natural wellness is a holistic approach to maintaining and improving health by emphasizing the use of natural remedies, lifestyle choices, and practices that support the body’s healing abilities. It focuses on promoting overall well-being by fostering balance between the mind, body, and soul.

The pillars of holistic well-being are nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and good sleep habits. The good news is that these elements are interconnected. By fueling our bodies with a balanced diet, we gain the energy to exercise, and regular physical activity boosts our mood. During exercise, the body produces endorphins, known as the “happy hormones,” which in turn promote better sleep.

No matter how healthy a lifestyle we lead, when midlife arrives and hormonal shifts occur, things can be thrown into disarray. For some more than others, and often, we’re not even prepared for it, which leads to confusion. All we need is information and direction to navigate this time in our lives with a positive mindset. Knowing that you are not alone, that there are solutions, and understanding where to find answers is half the battle.

I’ve always maintained good lifestyle habits. I ate a balanced Mediterranean diet and exercised regularly. However, as I entered perimenopause, I noticed this balance shifting. I didn’t change anything in my exercise routine or diet, but my weight, which had always been slightly below the optimal average, was now slightly higher. Nothing major, but it made me wonder why my metabolism was changing. I also felt overwhelmed, but I attributed it to the stresses of daily life. I had no idea I was in perimenopause, and in fairness, almost a decade ago, there wasn’t much information available on the subject. I didn’t experience crippling symptoms—no hot flashes or night sweats—but looking back, there were clear signs. I didn’t sleep well, my periods weren’t as regular as they used to be, and my joints ached, but I didn’t connect these to hormonal imbalance. I even recall taking a few pregnancy tests when my period was late!

When my gynecologist told me I was in perimenopause, I was surprised. She recommended I take primrose oil capsules, which helped tremendously. This sparked my interest in exploring other herbal supplements and, more importantly, led me to start learning about this phase of life. I discovered a passion that eventually turned into a career opportunity. I retrained as a nutritionist and delved into mindfulness and positive psychology.

I began applying what I had learned and shared it with friends. Soon, I felt energized, and I realized how this focus on making this stage of my life a positive one had such a profound impact on my well-being. I reframed any negative thoughts into a positive light, and it made all the difference. I became a “glass half full” kind of person.

I was fortunate to navigate this change without major issues, and I’m sure it’s due to the small changes I made to my diet, exercise routine, and stress management practices. I started practicing mindfulness and meditation, which helped enormously with my sleep patterns. I swapped aerobic classes for strength training and continued with yoga and pilates.

I felt great, but there was one thing that still bothered me. When I understood the importance of estrogen production on overall health, I began to wonder about the long-term effects of not producing it. My gynecologist wouldn’t prescribe HRT because I didn’t have any significant symptoms, but I still felt the need to protect my body. So, I made sure to incorporate a variety of botanicals to support my health. While you can’t compare the benefits of HRT with botanical remedies, nutrition and supplements can help reduce inflammation, maintain healthy bones and muscles, and support psychological function.

I was taking so many different pills and powders, but I also made sure my nutrition was rich in phytoestrogens and antioxidants. That’s when I began to think about how useful it would be to have a product that incorporated all the botanicals I was already taking—something versatile enough to fit into my daily routine. And that’s how the journey of Yuvité began.

One of the key elements for me was to ensure the product contained only functional ingredients—no unnecessary bulking agents, preservatives, or sweeteners. I believe that everything we put into our bodies should have a purpose, which is why I try to avoid empty calories. However, I also believe it’s important to allow yourself an occasional treat, even if it falls outside the “healthy” boundaries. If it makes you feel good, that in itself is positive.

Ultimately, natural wellness is about listening to your body and making choices that support your long-term health and happiness, rather than focusing on quick fixes or synthetic solutions. It encourages a more sustainable and mindful way of living.

That is the ethos behind Yuvité which lies in its carefully selected botanicals, each targeting specific areas of the body and mind to help restore vitality and energy, enabling you to become the best version of yourself.

In upcoming posts, we’ll dive deeper into each plant extract. But for now, here’s a brief overview of the key ingredients:

Red Clover: Known for its phytoestrogen properties.
    Ashwagandha: A powerful adaptogen.
Baobab Fruit Powder: Rich in antioxidants.
Green Tea Extract: Packed with polyphenols.
Cacao Powder: A source of catechins and antioxidants, linked to mood and well-being improvements.
